Love your wives

When the Bible commands husbands to “love your wives” in Ephesians 5:25, I have learned that such command does not only benefit our wives. It benefits the husbands too. In my experience, everytime I let my wife feel that I truly love her, there is something on the inside of me that feels good. Everytime I hug her, or I kiss her, or I tell her I love her, I see the glow on her face. And everytime I see that she’s happy by what I just did,  there is something inside of me that gets blessed. The more I see my wife’s reaction, the more I get blessed. The more I get blessed, the more I want to express my love for my wife. The cycle continues. What Jesus said that it is truly “more blessed to give than to receive” is so true – because as you give, you are given more. The more you are given more, the more you can give. Husbands, let us love our wives.

Facebook? Websites?

I know my header says “Mel in Madrid” but we are currently in London. This is actually part of our plan in preparation for our final move to Madrid which will be on April 15, 2009. We are spending 10 weeks with our very good friends, Wolfi and Ali Eckleben, to connect more with them relationally and, at the same time, receive more mentoring. So 2 days ago, Wolfi and I were talking about some important church stuff when he suggested that I should be on Facebook . I know that I have been receiving a barage of emails from different people inviting me to some sort of a network thingy. Thinking about Wolfi’s suggestion, I thought that, indeed, the world is getting smaller and smaller because we keep on finding ways on how to connect and catch up wherever part of the world we may be in. Thinking deeper, this is a clear sign that we, human beings, were created for relationships. Really, no man is an island. We were created for community, for connection, for family. This realization made me appreciate God more: because He created us to relate with Him more than anything else. That’s why Christianity is called a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Him and not some sort of a religious tradition we have to be in. So that’s why I decided to be on Facebook now. That’s also why I have this blogsite. This blogsite contains my different views to the different relationships I am in. I want to be in a community. I want to be in great relationships. Because at the end of the day, it’s really great to be connected with the people you love and the people who love you.
